Eman has earned her PhD in urban conservation from Edinburgh University. Master in urban design from Pratt Institute. currently working as an associate professor at the Department of Architecture at the American University of Ras Alkhaimah, UAE. Eman has been working as consultant in projects related to documentation, conservation, and management of cultural heritage. She was responsible for conducting many workshops and was chairing the scientific committee of the third and fourth international architectural conservation conference 2012 and 2015. Eman Assi has several publications. In 2014, her book on traditional houses of Dubai in both English and Arabic has been awarded the Sultan bin Salman Award of Cultural Heritage. At present, Eman is an expert member of the ICOMOS CIIC and ISC20th. Eman Assi have been working with much dedication to advance the field of conservation in the Gulf and Mediterranean Region. CIIC representative on “Our Common Dignity Initiative” Rights-based Approaches Working Group ((OCDI-RBAWG)
